Though Kolomyia (Russian: Коломыя) only a small town now, in the past it was an intersection on important trade routes east to Prague, Vienna and Mainz. The town has preserved distinctive Austro-Hungarian architecture and many unique stone buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries
