We just came home from Kyiv! What a wonderful time

It's my mom's birthday. On March 4, every year, I will remember how thankful I am to have had the best mom. If she was still here, I would have called her, wished her a happy birthday, have sent her a beautiful bouquet because she loved flowers, and have had a nice chat about what she and my dad have done today to celebrate her. I miss her so much.
Lately I have been going through our family photos so that I can make a memory book for each year. Of course, I come across so many that make me smile, especially ones of my mom and dad being amazing grandparents, and sometimes my mom just being silly (like holding up a book about Cranbrook). Here are a few from 2011 when we were in Canada visiting, and from 2012 when my parents came to Ukraine after Kai was born.

Yesterday, I had a chance to go with Cassie to the

Yesterday, I had a chance to go with Cassie to the fine arts museum here and see the Renoir exhibit. I love Renaissance art, so that was super fun. Then this morning, Kai made me coffee, Cassie made me breakfast, and I was able to pray with some wonderful YWAMers here for people groups in the world that don't have bibles in their language. After working for the day, I went to watch the junior varsity boys play volleyball because Ben is their coach... and they won! The day ended with some yummy pasta and early to bed. Thank you to all my friends and family for the loving birthday messages, calls and treats. I'm so thankful!

We are mostly all unpacked in the new house in Budapest. Cassie and I made earl grey cupcakes for our family and served them on the platter we made to honour my mom when she passed away. The time between the two photos? A few minutes :) ahhh... settling in...

Usually when we are home in Canada, we are able to meet with lots of people and do things a bit more personally, but this summer we are only here for a shorter time. If you would like to hear about our last year and what is happening in Ukraine, everyone is welcome to join the worship service on Wednesday July 5 @ Kilcona Park Alliance Church - 1977 Norris Road, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. You can join for whichever part of the night you would prefer, but we will be sharing during the worship service. If you will be joining for the potluck please bring something to share.
